& so begins...

dec 27-dec 30
...one big blur

885 miles. 8 states. a dude. & a cat.

(most) of my stuff leaving atlanta...

& we're off! pace insists on sitting with the driver at all times

i mean it...

caught a pretty kewl sunrise in Pennsylvania.

beautiful. too bad we were too delirious to really take it in.

...we have arrived!

the view from my bedroom window.
this was about when i realized why the 15 hour drive was worth it

fitting wine for the first night in my nyc apartment :)

aaand then I woke up to this.

(Note: I first woke up to the sound of running water. Thinking, damnit Pace, not again (he turns on the water - sometimes to drink, sometimes to be an asshole). As I walk into the bathroom to turn the sink off, I find myself in a flood. The sink couldn't keep up with the running water. It's 4AM. My bathroom floor had at least an inch of water covering the ground. Then I realized the water also went out into the hall. It was 4AM. Then I went back to bed after picking up the shattered phone I found after mopping up the flood. It was 4AM).

iPhone screen fixer happened to be right across the street from this gem

ALAS!

Kewlies.

Took Gus to the same place I got my NYC tattoo - Red Rocket Tattoo. Still can't believe I walked out without a new one...but Gus did!

My first piece of mail! :)
I love getting mail...take a hint ;-)

He's always here. Always. Unless he's showing off in the living room.

Even though the last three days have felt like one REALLY, REALLY long day blurred together, I loved every minute of it. I'm thankful for Gus who willingly trekked up in the Budget truck (who I will NEVER use again...and will not let YOU use them either), moved me in, explored NYC with me AND got inked. Great people make hard things easier to do. It still hasn't hit me yet that this is my home, I'm going to be going to work here next week and that I'm not on vacation.

It'll hit me.

And you'll all get the same sob story text message. Kidding. Kind of.

Love you.
